Kim and Kelley Deal, the sisters who run The Breeders, seem to have long given up on launching another hit at the "Cannonball." When you hear the new EP, "Fate to Fatal," I believe they had in mind to launch a small set of songs that might sound far from "commercial". The result was good but not excellent.
The track "Fate to Fatal" is good, very experimental and, despite being a total mess of sounds, has a great appeal. The listener knows that the band should be careful. Rather, it is preferable to listen to "Pod" or "Last Splash" before taking any reviews of this fantastic group.
"Fate to Fatal" came to please the old fans. And it came just a year after "Mountain Battles", something somewhat surprising to the fans, accustomed to the long gaps of the group.
What matters is that Kim Deal is still great and much to get new sounds, new trials. For the relief of us all.
