Good news today for fans pros Editors. In fact, good news for everyone, since the intention here is to reach fans and not-so-fans-so, and unaware of the band.
The third work of the quartet from Birmingham - which already runs the Internet even before the official launch, which occurred in the last 12 days - "In This Light And On This Evening, came to change the old idea that most listeners had about they. Since the first album, the excellent "The Back Room" in 2005 - which has brilliant songs, and "Munich" is my favorite - the Editors has been called Interpol English. Not that the comparison is bad, however, but the band has always vehemently denied that the second it has served to influence. The similarity, however, is remarkable, since both are offspring of the post-punk immortalized by Joy Division.
Or rather, was remarkable. In "In This Light And On This Evening," influences such as Depeche Mode and New Order have been reflected more clearly than Joy Division. Thus, what we hear is an immersive mix of keyboards, drum machines and synthesizers, with the voice dense always giving the somber tone that is already registered trademark. And the result is very good.
Without further ado, I present to you "Papillon", first single from.
