Considered one of the most anticipated albums of 2009, Dark Night of the Soul, Sparklehorse and the collaboration between producer Danger Mouse (Gnarls Barkley), can never be officially released. Legal issues revealed by the non-EMI put the disk in limbo, where you may never leave.

The 13 tracks, however, were leaked online recently, which is perhaps even a form of compensation sought by the musicians involved. Through a spokesman, Danger Mouse said he was "extremely proud" of the album. "He hopes that people lucky enough to hear him, in whatever form, be so excited as himself," the statement said.

Full of guests, Dark Night of the Soul has the participation of Wayne Coyne (Flaming Lips), Julian Casablancas (The Strokes), Iggy Pop, Frank Black, James Mercer (The Shins), Gruff Rhys (Super Furry Animals), Nina Persson ( Cardigans), Suzanne Vega, Vic Chesnutt and Jason Lytle (Granddaddy).

What's more, the album would come with a book of photos clicked by director David Lynch ( "Mulholland Drive", "Lost Highway"). Due to the change of plans for EMI, the reverse happens: the book will be published and, ironically, a CD-R blank with the giveaway will work. "
