Considered one of the most anticipated albums of 2009, Dark Night of the Soul, collaboration between Sparklehorse and producer Danger Mouse (Gnarls Barkley), can never be officially released. Non-legal issues revealed by EMI put the disk in limbo, where it may never leave.

The 13 tracks, however, leaked on the Internet recently, perhaps even a form of compensation sought by the musicians involved. Through a spokesman, Danger Mouse said he was "extremely proud" of the album. "He expects people lucky enough to hear it, the way it is, be so excited as himself," the statement said.
